Cabaret returns to the Dicker!!

We're Coming Home, We're Coming Home, We're Coming, Dickers Coming Home...

After a few years' absence from the Dicker, when we got too big for our boots and took off to wallow in the bright lights of Polegate and Hailsham, we are returning triumphant to our roots, to where it all began - The Dicker!

Expect songs, sketches, a little naughtiness and a lot of laughter
(OK, there's actually quite a lot of mild naughtiness and the occasional "I can't believe you just said that!" moment, so don't bring the kids)

We are reliving the good old days with a 3 course meal in the interval, prepared by the A Team and served by the performers - Florida Cocktail, remember that!? Bring your own drinks and nibbles.

Put the dates in your diaries now - Friday 29th and Saturday 30th November only - just 2 shows.

Main meal choices: Beef chilli with rice / vegetarian lasagne / vegan curry (contains nuts)
Let us know of any special dietary requirements or allergies.

Oh! What a Lovely Dicker Cabaret (2018)

The Dicker Players have been performing the ever-popular annual Dicker Cabaret at different venues for over 40 years. We are delighted to return to the wonderful Hailsham Pavilion for our fourth year.

Oh! What a Lovely Dicker Cabaret

Hailsham Pavilion
Friday 7th & Saturday 8th December
All seats £12
Tickets from Hailsham Pavilion Box Office 01323 841414

We are pleased to announce that this year £2 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Royal British Legion. What are you waiting for? Roll up, roll up, get yer loverly tickets ‘ere! Get your singing voice on and dress up (if you want) it’s going to be Oh What a Lovely Dicker Cabaret

The evening contains sketches, comedy routines and songs but - be warned - some of the material is of an adult nature which might cause offence.

This year, to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War, we are including a wartime theme in the show. The first half will be mainly sketch based in our familiar Cabaret style. The second half will be similar but all of the sketches, acts (including a disastrous 10 minute play) and songs will be based around a wartime theme.

Be prepared to join in the songs and, if you want to enter into the spirit, feel free to dress up appropriately or bring a Union Jack to wave!

This is probably the funniest live show you’re ever likely to see (in Hailsham anyway!).

The perfect pre-Christmas treat for you, your family, friends, office...

Comedy Night - Tickets available now

The Dicker Players have been performing their ever popular Cabaret, and a variety of plays, at different venues for over 40 years. They are delighted to be allowed out into the countryside this summer to perform ‘Comedy Night’ at Summer Trifle Arts festival.

Sunday August 5th and Monday August 6th
7.30 pm (doors 7pm)

Pickhams, Hayreed Lane, Wilmington, BN26 6RR
Tickets £8 from Summer Trifle
Bring your own drinks and nibbles.

An evening of 2 halves - the first half is a short play devoted to the workings and dynamics of a dysfunctional, failing Am Dram Group with hilarious consequences, the other half is a Cabaret of sketches and songs, all delivered with the usual Dicker Players flair.

Summer Trifle is an annual mini arts festival held at Pickhams in Wilmington, Polegate. The festival features art and sculpture exhibitions, workshops, live music, comedy (!), yoga, Edwardian Teas and more all set in the enchanting Open Gardens. Three hilarious one-act plays in one evening, all for the price of one at just £12 (£10 concessions). Streuth by Michael Green, Last Panto in Little Grimley by David Tristram and A Collier's Tuesday Tea by Michael Green. Expect things to 'go wrong'!!

Friday 8th and Saturday 9th June 2018, 7.30pm at Hailsham Pavilion
Tickets from Hailsham Pavilion Box Office 01323 841414

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to spend the evening in the company of a typically hapless amateur dramatic society?
Well wonder no more!

“A Collier’s Tuesday Tea” and “Streuth”, brilliantly written by Michael Green, are carefully constructed parodies ensuring that anything which could conceivably go wrong in a production does so.

“A Collier’s Tuesday Tea” combines the kitchen sink with the coal mine, together with an irreverent glance towards D. H. Lawrence. It is 1912 when you join the ’epplethwaite family as they gather for ‘igh tea. The weather is awful and yes - you guessed it - there’s trouble at t’pit! Not to mention trouble with the props, scenery - and accents.

“Streuth” is a crime drama which even Agatha Christie would never have dared to write. Set in the drawing room of D’Arcy Manor the mystery unravels - unfortunately so do the cast - and most of the scenery! There is such confusion that this play might just go on… …and on… …and on…

Sandwiched in between these two wonderfully funny plays is David Tristram’s “Last Panto In Little Grimley”. This slightly longer play follows the misfortunes of Little Grimley’s Am Dram Society - down to its last four members - as it plans its next production. Things are getting desperate as they meet to revive the group’s ailing support. Needless to say things are far from harmonious, and chaos - and laughter - ensue! Sound like any group you know?

If you loved “The Play That Goes Wrong” you’ll love these plays - 3 for the price of 1!

Dicker Cabaret returns to the fabulous Hailsham Pavilion on 1st and 2nd December 2017.
A hilarious blend of comedy sketches, songs and live music, the Dicker Cabaret 2017 will have you laughing, crying and singing, not necessarily in that order.
With a cast of thousands, it would be a very crowded stage so there will be 12 performers this year of varying heights, some with a very particular set of skills. Expect classic comedy, double entendres, interesting accents, costumes, oh the costumes, lights, action, something familiar and something peculiar. Bring your singing voices and some change for the refreshments in the interval.
Adults only.
Tickets on sale very soon from the Hailsham Pavilion Box Office.

Cabaret Again!!

The Dicker Players have been performing their ever popular annual Cabaret at different venues for over 40 years. We are delighted to return to the Hailsham Pavilion for our second year.
The evening contains sketches, comedy routines and songs but - be warned - much of the material is of an adult nature which might cause offence. The show contains extremely strong language so is unsuitable for children.
This year so many great celebrities have died that we have created a Cabaret style show as a tribute to them - hence the “Legends” tag.
Expect to see and hear material to celebrate the brilliance of Prince, Bowie, Ronnie Corbett, Victoria Wood, Caroline Aherne, Terry Wogan, Gene Wilder… to name but a few. This will be supplemented with material on the shady subject of “Death”… PLUS other stuff that just makes us laugh - we know you will too.
This is probably the funniest live show you’re ever likely to see! (in Hailsham anyway)
